James Kay - Technology
James (Jam) Kay was born in Detroit and moved with his family, at age three, to Los Angeles, California where he lived until earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology at California State University Northridge (CSUN). Jam relocated, with his wife, to Maryland for his job in computer programming and computer support. While living in Maryland, he earned an MBA (Information Systems) from the University of Maryland and an MA in Education (Instructional Systems Development) from the University of Maryland – Baltimore County (UMBC.) His work took him to Belgium, Germany, and Norway and then back to Maryland. He later moved to Taiwan where he taught English for almost 10 years.
Jam and his wife, Anne, are relatively new to Tucson, having arrived in December of 2018 from Taiwan. Since that time, Jam has received an Arizona Secondary Teaching Certificate in Biology, Business, and Current and Emerging Technologies (CET.) He has taught Community College courses in computer programming in Maryland and Germany and has been substitute teaching in Tucson since he arrived here. He is really excited to be joining the faculty at St. Joe’s because he loves teaching and loves making computers work. He told us this is his “Dream Job!” Outside of work, Jam is completing his Secondary Teacher educational requirements at Pima Community College. The courses are all online
