Michelle Cooper - Art
Mrs. Cooper has been involved with the St. Joseph community since 2001, joining the faculty of St. Joseph Catholic School in 2003. She was born & raised in Nogales, Az., earning her BFA at Arizona State University.
The Cooper’s, - husband Les, also an ASU grad - have two children; the youngest, Kaele, is a 2008 St. Joseph Catholic School graduate and currently a Graduate Student at NAU in their PT program. Their son Cy & daughter-in-law Sarah are both Chemical Engineers (ASU graduates) with grandson Reilly being the most recent family addition. The love of the family is their cocker, Kami (KA for Kaele, MI for Michelle = KAMI ...!!)
Spanish being her primary language, Mrs. Cooper has taught Pre-K – 8th grades Spanish. As a Spanish teacher, she enjoyed encouraging students to understand the benefits of speaking a 2nd language.
“I love all aspects of the arts” says Michelle, having taught art, dance and theatre in both public and private education. She is now teaching art to our Kinder thru 8th graders.
Exploring various aspects of the education community in 6 states and 3 countries (military wife), Mrs. Cooper truly believes a Catholic Community is a wonderful foundation for our youth and is ecstatic to be a part of the St. Joseph community.
